    Our History

    Hello. My name is Michael Anderson and I am the owner and operator of LePeep Restaurants of Dallas. I have been in the restaurant business for over 33 years and with LePeep for 20 of those years- first as a manager then as an owner. The opportunity that LePeep has given me has afforded me to grow my business from one restaurant to five in the past fifteen years. Throughout the years I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people, those who have worked for me and our customers who have been coming into the restaurants over the years; some of these relationships have led to strong friendships that endure even today as well as some great business opportunities.

    We at Le Peep are fortunate to have such a great product to offer our guests. It is a product that we are proud to serve and has elevated us to almost cult status with our die hard guests over the years. Today I see customers who come in to the restaurants that were babies back in the early 90’s, being brought in by their parents. Now that’s hard core dedication to a concept, and we are fortunate and thankful at Le Peep for their still continuing patronage. Working at Le Peep as an owner has allowed me to grow as an entrepreneur as well through the vast volume of knowledge needed to be able to grow and be successful.

    As for the rest of the story about our history it is as follows:

    Buddy and Rhoda Waldman started the Le Peep idea in 1965 when they opened a restaurant in Aspen, Colorado called “The Village Pantry”. After the first year the restaurant was open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., so that Buddy and Rhoda could get in a half day’s skiing. They continued to develop the concept in Park City, Utah and Sun Valley, Idaho. Next they opened the Eggshell in 1979 in Denver, and then in November, 1981 started the first Le Peep on Leetsdale Drive in Denver. The first 2 franchised restaurants were opened in Boulder, CO. and Minneapolis, MN. shortly thereafter. Allen Bernstein became involved with Le Peep in 1983. He was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer until January, 1989. During that time the company grew to 68 company and continued to franchise additional Le Peep establishments. Mr. Mitchell Rhoads joined Le Peep in January, 1989 as President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.
